Nalón area / Sotón

 Sotón is the paradigm of the mining area model of the central valleys, located in the heart of the Central Coal Mining Basin and established on the fertile plains of the main rivers (Nalón and Caudal).

It was the second of the main coal mining plants to be built by Sociedad Metalúrgica Duro Felguera.

It saw the start of the area organisation theories and the technological advances that were to become the identifying mark of the main Duro mines.
