Nalón area / Candín

This area saw the Jovellanos and Carreño and Cañedo reports regarding the early mining techniques and the mineral wealth of the Asturian Mining Basin at the end of the 18th century. The Candín pit is set along the middle course of the river with the same name, near what used to be the Duro Felguera Factory (now the Valnalón Industrial Estate). It was originally called San Eulalia, although this was changed by HUNOSA to combine all the names of the Candín group. |
