Caudal area - Batán

The washery plant is located on an area used for waste dumping and forms the edge of the town of Mieres. It was built by Sociedad Fábrica de Mieres in the early 1950s and underwent different, significant transformations to become what it now is. It is used to prepare all the coal produced in the Caudal area to obtain the necessary qualities for its sale. The coal is treated by a closed circuit of water, with no pollutants being poured into public watercourses. |
