Caudal Area - Aller

Hullera Española held sole control of the coal mining region along the lower course of the Aller River through the production plants of San Antonio, Santiago and San Jorge.

The deepening of the San Jorge pit dates back to 1940 (fully operational in 1942 when the mining machinery was installed). This was difficult work due to the proximity of the Aller River that flooded the sites.

The productive life of San Jorge ended in 1995 when all activities were concentrated in Santiago.
