Organization

Hulleras del Norte, S.A. (HUNOSA) was constituted on 9th March 1967 to deal in the mining and sale of underground mine deposits in the Nalón and Caudal basins and the running of a self-generating, circulating fluidised bed coal-fired power plant.

HUNOSA has been involved in diversification policies and in the regenerating of the industrial framework in Mining Districts since the 80s.

It is wholly owned by SEPI.

  • Companies in the Group: Sadim Inversiones, S.A. (100% share), Sociedad Asturiana de Diversificación Minera, S.A. (100% share), Reicastro, S.A. (51% share).
  • Associated Companies: Sociedad para el Desarrollo de las Comarcas Mineras, S.A. (SODECO) (50% share), Cabe S.L. (49% share).
  • Other areas of action: is a sponsor of the Santa Bárbara Labour Foundation (FUSBA).
