Present an future (I)

In January 2002, the real workforce of Hunosa stood at 6,151 employees, dropping to 4,137 by 31 st December 2004. Real production reached 1.5 million tons in 2002, 1.27 million in 2003 and a little over one million tons in 2004.

On 4 th April 2002, the 2002-2005 Hunosa Business Plan and Collective Bargaining Agreement was signed at the head offices of SEPI in Madrid with three basic objectives:

  • to ensure company evolution that is compatible with the national mining plan and Community normative so that its future expansion within the Community legal framework is permitted.
  • future development of the Central Asturian Basin , creating the conditions to generate alternative employment to coal mining.
  • to define a labour-related framework governing relations between the company and its employees

2005 ended with a real workforce of 3,420 employees and real production of 0.9 million tons.
